So I pressed 8 to get a live person/. The rep stated my account was closed, I asked her how can this be, she stated all EMERGE MASTERCARD ACCOUNTS HAVE BEEN CLOSED?. I asked her when was this notice sent out, because I did not receive it!.
The rep stated it was sent out today 11/24/2009'. How could the company send out a notice today when the accounts have been closed, she could not give me an answer?. I asked to speak to her supervisor'. The supervisor stated the same response'.

I also have a credit balance so they owe me money! I have to go thru a whole process to get them to send me a check. So ridiculous! There has to be some recourse. I can't believe this... and if they charged me $59 then I'm gonna blow a stack! They are messing with the wrong Customer! |
2. Written by Belicia on May 4, 2010 from deerfield beach, florida, US I just looked into my credit report by the three Creditors and it states Account closed at consumer's request. How do I get this corrected? This was my very first credit card. The way the Credit report systems works is by history and now that is screwed

4. Written by Kurt on January 14, 2010 from jackson, new jersey, US I found that Emerge had reported my closed to Equifax that the account had been closed at the CONSUMERS request. I disputed it with Equifax and they came back with the same determination, closed at MY request. On to the next step.
5. Written by LHT on December 30, 2009 from jacksonville, florida, US I received a statement from Emerge for the month of December and had already written a $59 "annual fee" check when I noticed both my Total Credit Line and Available Credit are $0.00. Why is Emerge billing people for NO CREDIT LINE? Wonder how many people mailed their $59 checks without noticing they were paying for nothing?

7. Written by Tanisha on December 1, 2009 from san francisco, california, US The same thing happened to me. I received the letter and called Emerge to find out why the account couldn't have just been sold again. I got the same answers as everyone else. I owe them almost $2K and didn't feel that I should have to pay them back at a rate of 29.99%. @ Steve, were you able to get a settlement?
8. Written by Acino on November 28, 2009 from new orleans, louisiana, US The same thing also happened to me as I was using the card just as protocol when checking into a hotel. Of course the card was declined and I called them livid because I knew I had plenty of room on the card. That's when they told me to call some other 800 number. They claimed that it will still appear on our credit as open until paid off. What a rip-off with no notice!
9. Written by Steve on November 27, 2009 from philadelphia, pennsylvania, US I received the letter today and called the 800#. The customer service rep told me the same thing. I told him I refuse to pay off the balance at the high interest rate and asked for a settlement offer.
